36 Hours & 4 Flights Down, 1 Luggage Lost

26 12 2007

I have to say that if I never eat another bad airline meal again, it’ll be too soon!

ENTERTAINING OURSELVES IN THE AIRPORT

36 hours after we left JFK and 4 flights later, we finally landed in Wellington, New Zealand.

I WAS ONLY SLEEPING PART OF THE WAY…

Overall, the trip wasn’t too bad with one minor exception. They lost my luggage! Which means that half of our camping equipment, most of our biking equipment, and all of the stuff that I’ve had (with the exception of a camera, phone, wallet, etc.) are missing right now.

Realistically, they’ll probably turn up in about 1 to 3 days. But in the meantime, it makes things a bit more difficult than desired. Ohh well, it wouldn’t be an adventure trip if things didn’t go wrong. I just didn’t expect them to go wrong so quickly🙂

Anyhoo, we just got to the hostel, so I’ll call it a day for now. Will post again before we leave Wellington in 1-2 days!

p.s. Wellington is known as a very windy city, so plane landings can sometimes be a little tricky. We got pretty lucky today, but here’s a video of how it sometimes happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ5Q_vbSzJU

Hey Boris, sorry to here about your lost bags but remember the things we own end up owning us. If it is any conciliation you will see 2008 half a day before Alex and even an hour or two before me.

Just keep pedalling, pedalling, pedalling

Cheers
